Healing as a Process

Indigenous families are communally based with relationships situated at the core of community and family. This is distinctly different from the western, nuclear-based, individuals-focused family system.

One-Day Advanced Clinical Training Objectives:

  • Incorporate the Indigenous values of Kindness,

  • Gentleness, Accountability,

  • Honesty and Humour into clinical practice

  • Recognize attachment challenges in Indigenous family relationships

  • Be knowledgable of the historical disruption of Indigenous family attachments

  • Be introduced to the Indigenous cultural attachment teachings

  • Apply evidence-based healing tools to relieve the attachment challenges

  • Apply evidence-based healing tools to strengthen attachment healing

  • Encourage culturally-based attachment healing methods

  • Apply the attachment healing to inter-generational relationships
