EMDR BASIC TRAINING

Session One: June 21 – 23, 2017; Wednesday - Friday 9-5pm
Session Two: September 5-8, 2017; Wednesday - Friday 9-5pm
Group Consultation: September 5 from 12:30-4:30pm (Tues. afternoon before 2nd session)
Online Pre Study: May 2017

Cost: Two-part Basic Training Course $2100 CDN which includes 10 hrs of group and individual consultation with an EMDRIA approved consultant; textbook; manuals, and handouts. $2000 if non-refundable deposit received by April 7, 2017. 

Deposit: $ 600.00 CAD

This is a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit to reserve your spot at the June 21-23, 2017 and September 6-9, 2017 EMDR Basic Training Sessions in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Once we have confirmed your deposit payment, we will issue an invoice for the remainder of the registration fee.

 

Pre-Study

The pre-study materials will be sent to you 1 month prior to session one starting.

  • Pre-Study 2: EMDR Research

  • Pre-Study 3: Other EMDR Resources

 

Prerequisites

Qualified applicants will have a minimum of a Master's level training in a mental health discipline and must belong to a professional organization with a code of ethics, or be a graduate student having completed their core graduate academic coursework and have completed their practicum/internship portion of their graduate program. Graduate students must be on a licensing track and working under the supervision of a fully licensed mental health clinician. 

 

If you will be unable to practice EMDR with clients between the two sessions you will be unable to complete the training.

All participants are welcome in my training regardless of background, sexual orientation, gender, race, culture, or religious background if you meet the above criteria.

EMDRIA Prerequisites

Licensed Mental Health Professionals

Qualifying Medical Doctors must have a medical specialty in Psychiatry and must also be licensed to practice in their state or province.

Qualifying Nurses must have a Master of Science in Nursing (or higher) with a specialization in psychiatric nursing and must also be licensed to practice in their state or province.

Qualifying Mental Health Clinicians must have a Master’s or Doctoral degree in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Social Work) or related mental health discipline considered appropriate by EMDRIA and must also be licensed to practice in their state or province.

Mental Health Clinicians who have a Master’s degree in one of the following fields must submit their graduate transcript to Sue Genest to determine their eligibility: Art Therapy, Christian/Pastoral Counseling, Drug/Alcohol Counseling, and Music Therapy. These clinicians will also need to submit a copy of their license to practice in their state or province in order to determine their eligibility.

Interns & Students

Qualifying graduate students must be enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work) or related mental health discipline considered appropriate by EMDRIA. Students must have completed their core graduate academic coursework and must be in the practicum/internship portion of their graduate program. Graduate students who are enrolled in a Master’s program in one of the following fields must submit their graduate course transcript to Sue Genest to determine their eligibility: Art Therapy, Christian/Pastoral Counseling, Drug/Alcohol Counseling, and Music Therapy.

Students who would like to take the basic training will need to submit the following documentation to determine eligibility for registering for an EMDRIA Approved Basic EMDR Training: graduate transcript, practicum or internship hours, curriculum vita, and a letter from their current supervisor which includes the supervisor’s degree information, licensure information and license number.
